THE BATTLEFIELDS EXPERIENCE

ABOUT US

Rob Bedford, Battlefields Experience
Jackie Bedford - Battlefields Experience

The Battlefields Experience specialises in organising scheduled and bespoke Military History Tours throughout Europe, covering the period from 1415 to 1945. Established in 2000, the company has welcomed and entertained visitors from around the world – including Australia and New Zealand, The USA and Canada, Britain and Ireland – even Japan. Our HQ is the historic Old Café Jourdain at Mailly-Maillet on the Somme.

At The Battlefields Experience we have a passion for military history – both Rod and Jackie have served in the British Army. Rod is one of the few battlefield tour guides operating today who can combine an encyclopaedic knowledge of historic military events, with the skills attained through eighteen years in the Grenadier Guards and Instructor at the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. This means that the significance of each battlefield location is fully revealed and brought alive for you, through the eyes of a soldier. Both Jackie and Rod have served with the British Police, which not only means they are excellent drivers, but have also been trained to be very ‘risk aware’ - You could not be in safer hands.
